Overview
Audience
Personnel requiring knowledge of RPG programming.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of data processing, programming concepts, and the AS/400 Operating System.
Objectives
After completing this course, the student should be able to:
- Outline the concepts of RPG Programming, including the structure of RPG, the RPG cycle, and
- the flow of control through an RPG program.
- Outline and be familiar with the use of specification sheets.
- Recognize and use RPG data types, opcodes, and indicators.
- Identify variables and constants.
- Detail and understand the functioning of arrays, elements, and data structures.
- Recognize and detail RPG/400 naming standards.
- Outline functioning indicators and identify major groups of indicators.
- Use and/or avoid certain indicators.
