Overview
Audience
Personnel writing and updating CL programs, including programmers, system programmers, and
system operators.
Prerequisites
The student must have completed Introduction to CL Programming or equivalent.
Objectives
After completing this course, the student should be able to:
- Describe and use built-in functions (%SUBSTRING, %SWITCH, etc.).
- Retrieve job and system values into a Control Language program.
- Understand and describe Program Message Queues.
- Understand the use of message types.
- Monitor for system messages sent to your Control Language program.
- Send various message types through the system, using Control Language programs.
